Parish pastoral council
Members of a parish pastoral council, according to Auckland diocesan guidelines, are “those who set the vision, and are ‘planners’ and ‘enablers’ who work collaboratively with the parish priest to build community and serve the People of God in the parish”.
The Maria Assumpta parish pastoral council is responsible for overall pastoral planning, goal-setting and co-ordination of ministries, to build community and achieve the mission of the parish.

The parish finance committee is primarily concerned with ensuring that the parish has the financial capacity for its mission and pastoral works, including financial planning and accounting for, administering and safeguarding parish income, expenditure and assets.

The parish property committee has been set up to explore possibilities for the best use of the land the parish owns behind the parish hall.
